IN what may prove to be a pivotal season for St Peter's, the side have performed creditably in their four pre-season friendlies to date.

A visit to Old Parmiterians saw the Saints turn out 3-1 winners with David Yeo bagging a hat-trick and goalkeeper Craig Derrick saving a last-minute penalty kick.

The following day, Watford side Quadrant visited Francis Bacon School for a game that St Peter's won at a canter, 3-1, thanks to goals from Butcher, Caines and Donnelly.

Last Wednesday, John Welch's side visited Colney Heath to play their reserve side and came away with a more than satisfactory 2-0 victory, the goals coming from Steve Miller and Yeo.

However, after such a bright start, the Saints were soon brought back down to earth by a 4-2 defeat at Met Police (Bushey) on Saturday that saw Caines and Arnold scoring the side's consolation goals.

Visits from local rivals Sandridge (tomorrow) and Harpenden Rovers are followed by a trip to Oxhey Jets completing the side's run-up to the new season which begins next Saturday.
