Paul Goodison played his best innings since joining Brondesbury last season, striking 12 fours and a six in his brilliant 98 to keep the defending champions in the hunt for league honours again this season.
Opening in the absence of Ian Osborne, Goodison shared stands of 91 with Mike Hood (46), 65 with Ian Kidd (27) and 51 with Tommy Simpson
Earlier, Brondesbury had fielded poorly as Stanmore amassed 222 (Rob Western 49, Alastair Fraser 43, Mark Dyson 31 not out, Peter Edwards 31), off 63 overs.
With only one fit seamer, Brondesbury were indebted to Mark Lowrey (4-42) and Ricky Fay (4-81) for restricting Stanmore.
A feature was a magnificent catch on the cover boundary by Goodison to dismiss hard-hitting Nevin Samarakoon.
Brondesbury II 127, Stanmore II 128-9. Brondesbury III 165 (Chris Butcher 87 no), Stanmore III 91 (Bill Cheyne 6-11).
