AN attempt to crush the world record for the largest curry is among the ideas on the menu to celebrate the final Bushey carnival this century.

At Bushey and Oxhey Round Table's meeting on Monday, January 4, members cooked up a number of attractions that could be viable for the final parade and huge family attraction before the Millennium.

Items under discussion included the adventurous proposal of a massive curry, cooked by The India Garden in Bushey High Street, to try to get Bushey into the Guinness Book of Records.

Also discussed was a jump into the Millennium, which means the group will hire a crane for any residents who are brave enough to plunge hundreds of feet attached to a piece of elastic, better known as a bungee cord.

Bushey and Oxhey Round Table vice-chairman, Mr Bob Sutton, said: "To start the Bushey Festival on Saturday, July 3, members want to do something a little special.

If you are interested then telephone former member, Mr Ken Moxley, on 0181 9507215, or member, Mr John Wright, on 01923 468205.

Mr Moxley said: "We can go ahead and make arrangements for this event if we receive enough response so we look forward to plenty of calls."
