THERE will be fun and games for all the family at the first-ever St Julians Festival in St Albans on the Bank Holiday weekend.

The festival, which has been organised by the King Offa pub in Wallingford Walk, includes live music, a bouncy castle for children, a tug-of-war for the adults and a gigantic car boot sale.

Events at the pub kick off on Saturday, August 29. Live bands will be strutting their stuff at the venue from 6pm onwards. There is no admission charge to the pub.

During the day, a bouncy castle will be set up in the pub gardens and a barbecue takes place in the evening. The first round of the tug-of-war competition, a chance to work off all those hamburgers, kicks off afterwards.

On Sunday, August 30, there will again be a collection of live bands playing in the pub and the bouncy castle will be in the garden again.

A car boot sale starts at 10am and costs £5 per pitch. There will also be a barbecue and tug-of-war competition, round two.

On Monday, August 31, events are as the previous two days, with the addition of a children's fancy dress competition, starting at 2.30pm, and a Miss St Julians competition, at 4pm. The tug-of-war final is at 8pm.

For details of any of the events, and information on how to enter the fancy dress competition or the Miss St Julians competition, call the pub on 01727 843088.
