A WOMAN died after being hit by her husband's car as she directed him into a parking space at a Bricket Wood restaurant.
Mrs Dorothy Howes, 66, died at West Herts Hospital in Hemel Hempstead on Thursday after suffering serious head injuries.
The accident happened as her husband, Gordon, 72, of Toms Lane, Kings Langley, was parking his car at the Moor Mill restaurant, Smug Oak Lane, Bricket Wood, at 8pm on Monday, August 10.
Mr Howes was trying to park his new Citroen Xantia and his wife had got out of the car to help guide him into a space.
Police believe Mr Howes put his foot on the accelerator instead of the brake, reversed and collided with his wife.
Police said Mr Howes was being treated for shock after the incident.
They are urgently appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact London Colney traffic division on 01727 796203 or 01727 796223.
