RAIN didn't dampen the spirits of the hundreds of motorbike and car enthusiasts who turned out for the Croxley Motorbike Rally last Sunday.

A variety of motorcycles and vintage American cars filled The Green, as well as a fun fair and a host of market stalls.

The event, organised by Croxley Parish Council worker Carl Batson, was held together by the strongman competition.

Due to the poor conditions only four of the five scheduled events could take place.

Last year's JCB Pull winner, Monty Montague, who is in his fifties, was this year pushed into second place by Chris Bajek from Luton.

Chris performed a monstrous 200kg bench press and hauled the seven tonne JCB over the 30 metre course in one minute and 59 seconds.

Ms Fitness UK, Liz Kinsella, not only took time off from her rigorous training schedule to support the day, but also performed a 75kg Bench Press.

All competitors earned themselves a selection of prizes donated by Maximuscle and MuscleTalk.

Chris also bagged himself a large selection of meat from Croxley Meats to help keep up his strength.

Representatives from the chosen charity this year, MIND, were on site to raise awareness as well as funds for the charity.

MIND were chosen after the death of PC Kim Newton earlier this year.

Kim helped and advised with last year's event.
