THE Metropolitan Line has been declared a veritable wilderness for singles, with a meagre six per cent of travellers declaring themselves as uncoupled, according to a survey by internet dating company, Snog London.
The firm currently has more than 5,000 singles on its books and asks everyone to include the underground station they live nearest to when they fill in their personal details.
According to Snog London, tubes, buses and trains provide a great opportunity to perhaps find Mr or Mrs Right.
And almost 100 per cent of respondents to the survey said a bit of flattery while travelling can set them up with a smile for the rest of the day.
But while the Met Line lays claim to only six per cent of singles, those who are unattached may find themselves more lucky in love on the District and Northern Lines, where singletons make up 21 per cent of registered commuters.
Watford Met station has 27 singles registered, Rickmansworth four, and Moor Park and Croxley each have one with Croxley's hopeful single calling himself Dishwasher Safe. So far, no singles in Chorleywood have signed up with the dating website.
