The family of missing Watford man Mahmood Ahmad remain in the dark about his whereabouts as police reveal fresh CCTV footage from the night he disappeared.

One month since Mr Ahmad was kidnapped outside his Radlett Road home, officers have admitted there is “no news” about what might have happened to him.

This is despite five people facing charges relating to his disappearance, with four more arrested and released on police bail.

The victim had been working at the Lahore Kebab House in Umberston Street, Aldgate on March 6.

This new CCTV still captures him on his return home, driving his black Citroen C2 car along Pitfield Street, Hackney, at about 1am on March 7. He was travelling from Old Street towards New North Road.

Police then believe he was abducted from outside his home later that morning and his dismembered thumb was found in the Ilford area on March 10.

Detective Chief Inspector Mel Burn, of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “A month on from when police received the missing persons call about Mahmood from his family, we are renewing our appeal for information.

“We are hoping this fresh footage will jog people’s memories about what they may have seen around the time of his disappearance.

“This is a very difficult time for Mahmood’s family, to still have no news, and your information could help to finally give them the answers they so desperately need about him.

“If you have any information at all, no matter how insignificant you might think it is, please get in touch. You can do this in confidence via the incident room number 01707 355798 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
