More than 150 local heroes attended a dinner on Saturday evening, hosted by the chairman of Three Rivers District Council.

The evening, held at the Watford Hilton Hotel, gave Chairman Richard Laval a chance to thank local groups, charities and residents he has worked with throughout his year in office.

A raffle was held and raised £700 for the Chairman’s charities, WaterAid and the Retired Greyhound Trust.

Councillor Laval said: “It was a privilege to see so many volunteers and representatives of local organisations, enabling the council to say thank you and to show our appreciation for all the work they do in our local communities.

“A special thank you must go to Sarah Haythorpe for the hard work she spent on getting the guest list organised and chased up, as well as organising the hotel.”
