Students from a school in Kings Langley have proven their dancing and theatrical talents at a sell-out show.
Friends and family turned out in force to support pupils from Kings Langley School, Love Lane, for their dance and drama showcase at Rudolf Steiner Theatre in Langley Hill.
The evening, held on Friday April 23, was organised so that students could take part in national competition Rock Challenge.
The contest, created by organisation Be Your Best Foundation, aims to capture the imagination of teenagers by providing them with an exciting and unique opportunity to experience the buzz of performing in a professional venue in front of their peers, families and friends.
Having made it through the semi-finals in February with a dance and drama routine incorporating past and present music, students from Kings Langley School needed to raise £2,000 to travel to Portsmouth for the final.
Drama teacher Gemma Dolan said: “The showcase went brilliantly, we sold all 500 tickets and raised more than £2,000.
“Kings Langley School students were joined by pupils from Galley Hill Primary School in Hemel Hempstead who were also amazing.
“We had raffle items donated for the evening including a signed Watford shirt, signed QPR shirt, meals at local restaurants, iPod docking system, laptop computer, DAB radio, digital camcorder and much more.
“We can now book our coaches to get us to the Rock Challenge Final in Portsmouth on June 10, and represent Hertfordshire.
“A really lovely evening and testament to how performing arts in Herts just carries on growing.”
