AFTER abseiling down The Harlequin shopping centre a Croxley Green woman is now preparing for her next challenge to jump out of a plane.

Caroline Davis, a faculty administrator at Westfield Community Technology College, will complete a tandem parachute jump on July 16.

Caroline, 45, has lived all her life in Bushey, Watford and now Croxley Green, apart from a couple of years in Ottawa, Canada, where she was a nanny.

One of the children she looked after there very sadly died of cancer at the age of two.

Caroline is completing the chump to raise money for the Peace Hospice, Watford.

She said: "I'm not very good with long training schedules so just turning up on the day and getting the job done will suit me much better.

"I'm nearly over the 'What have I got myself into?' stage and am now really looking forwards to the jump. I'm sure the adrenalin will be in overload on the day, but without that they probably wouldn't be able to get me in the plane, let alone out of it again!

"Unfortunately, I've known several people who have succumbed to cancer and know that the various hospices they went to gave them and, just as importantly, their families a huge amount of invaluable help and support.

"The sad truth is that I will probably know more in the future, maybe closer to home than I like to think about, so it is vital that the hospice movement is given as much help and support as they give to the people they deal with. It is great to be able to raise money for a charity that is local, helping people in my own community. It's your community too, so please support me."

"My first day collecting sponsors was a great success a huge thank you to those of you who were at the Croxley Revels. My friends, family and work mates have also been very generous, so thank you to them as well, but I need lots more sponsors to reach my £1,000 target."
