A lecturer from Watford will meet the Queen when he attends a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
Paul Tear MBE and his wife Jenny, from Knutsford Avenue, were invited in recognition for the work carried out by students at Bucks New University on pieces of furniture belonging to the Royal Collection from Holyroodhouse, in Edinburgh, and the palace.
Paul, 56, is a course leader for the BA (Hons) Furniture Conservation, Restoration and Decorative Arts course at the university, in High Wycombe.
He said: “The invite to the Palace is a fantastic acknowledgement of our work and the work of students at Bucks New University.
“This is a way that the Royal Collection can actually say thank you to people like ourselves who have undertaken projects for them.
“It will be a fantastic occasion, hopefully we will have a nice, sunny day, and my best suit is already at the cleaners ahead of the event.”
Jenny, 54, is a teaching assistant at Knutsford School, in Knutsford Avenue, Watford, and the couple have three children.
They will attend the garden party on Tuesday, July 20.
