AN alleged murderer from Abbots Langley and a former Watford man accused of perverting justice appeared in court this morning.
Wayne Grimes, 36, of Shirley Road, Abbots Langley, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth and was remanded in custody to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday.
He is accused of murdering Zafar Khaliq, of North London, whose body was found in roadworks in Bedfordshire on Thursday afternoon.
Kieran O'Brien, 29, of Peascroft Road, Hemel Hempstead, is accused of perverting justice. He was granted bail by magistrates but this was contested.
The hearing at Hatfield Remand Court was attended by several members of Mr O'Brien's family.
Both defendants will remain in custody until the bail appeal at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday.
