Abbots Langley Flower Arrangement Society has held a demonstration based on "Viva Las Vegas"

The bright bulbs of Las Vegas were brought to Abbots Langley courtesy of a meeting held in the village.

Members of Abbots Langley Flower Arrangement Society were treated to a demonstration entitled “Viva Las Vegas”, by guest speaker Charmaine Grace Woodham.

Starting with “Painting the Town Red”, an arrangement of red carnations on a curved stand with paint brushes provided a colourful introduction, with the Mirage Hotel waterfall depicted using palm spade and white carnations and chrysanthemums.

The white Wedding Chapel was illustrated with a wedding bouquet and Caesars Palace was created using an arrangement of anthurium roses and lilies.

Sylvia Clinton, member of the society, said: “At the end of the evening the audience felt they had indeed been on a trip to Las Vegas.”

The next meeting of the Abbots Langley Flower Arrangement Society will be held on September, 23 at the Henderson Hall.

Guest speaker Gill McGregor will present a demonstration themed around “Autumn Delights”, from 7pm.
