An Aldenham garden was praised for its “riot of colour” after it won an annual best front garden competition.
Ken Staton, from The Almshouses, in Roundbush, won the Centenary Cup in Radlett Horticultural Society's annual best front garden competition.
Mr Staton's garden featured hydrangeas, fuschias, begonias and perennials in pots, window boxes, borders and hanging baskets.
The competition was judged last month but the award was given to Mr Staton last Thursday by society president John Rickards.
The judges assessed every garden in the Aldenham parish and named Matthew Bolshaw, from Back Lane, Letchmore Heath, as runner-up.
Third place was awarded to John Dancy and his wife from Hawthorne Road, Radlett.
Best communal garden was won by Church Farm Way, Aldenham and best commercial properties won by Aldenham Parish Council for their display of window boxes and hanging baskets around the Radlett Centre, in Watling Street.
