New CCTV cameras will be installed to fight anti-social behaviour in a Watford shopping parade.
Member of Hertfordshire County Council Mark Watkin allocated £125 from his locality budget to the Courtlands Residents Association to help pay for cameras in Goodwood Parade.
The parade has been subjected to a range of anti-social behaviour problems including vandalism, violence and under-age drinking.
Councillor Watkin, a Liberal Democrat, said: “There are occasions where it is necessary to install CCTV equipment to deter anti-social behaviour and, in turn, to improve the quality of life for local residents and shoppers.
"We know that CCTV is effective in reducing this kind of problem in local trouble spots so it is money well spent.”
