Top ten spot for Three Rivers District Councillor Sara Bedford's blog

A Three Rivers District Council member has been recognised as one of the most popular Liberal Democrat political commentators in the country.

“Always win when you're singing”, an online journal published by Councillor Sara Bedford, is in the top ten most read Liberal Democrat blog.

The ward councillor for Abbots Langley said this year's position of ninth in the annual list of Top 75 Lib Dem blogs was an improvement on last year, when it was rated 22nd.

At the top of the Total Politics list was LibDem Voice, run by a collective of Liberal Democrat members, activists and bloggers, including Mrs Bedford.

It is read by more than 50,000 individual visitors per month, and is ranked in the top five most influential blogs in the UK.

Mrs Bedford, who has been a member of the Liberal Party since the 1980s, and has been a Three Rivers District Council member since 1996, regularly updates her website with opinion, current events and recipes.

She said: “It's quite a surprise to do so well, as I haven't been updating it as much as I should, and used to.

“But it's obviously very flattering that so many people read what I write and like it. I write to get things off my chest really.”
