A celebrity radio chef has stepped in to turn on the Christmas lights in Kings Langley.
The Watford Observer had reported how this year’s event would be lacking the star element, after parish councillors failed to find a celebrity for the switch-on.
But according to vice-chairman of Kings Langley Parish Council, Gerry Angiolini, BBC Three Counties radio presenter Nick Coffer has now stepped up to the plate.
He said: “I had a phone call saying that they’d seen the story on the Watford Observer website and would like to offer Nick’s services.
“We’re delighted, what fantastic publicity, we've got our celebrity.”
Aside from presenting, Nick Coffer, from Watford, is also author of the forthcoming book 'My Daddy Cooks'.
The annual Christmas Lights Festival will be held on Saturday, November 27.
