Proud parents and local residents wrapped up warm to listen to school children sing Christmas songs yesterday, as Oxhey Village Environment Group (Oveg) staged its second annual Carols on the Green.
With the help of hot chocolate and mulled wine to beat off the cold, the hundreds of people gathered on the green, in Lower Paddock Road, enjoyed a festive show performed by pupils from Bushey and Oxhey Infants and Bushey Manor School.
And as an added bonus, the crowd was treated to solo performances from Grace Ellis and Sarah Sharp - the joint winners of a recent talent competition - Oxhey's Got Talent - run by Oveg.
To round off the evening, an adult choir comprising of parents and teachers from the schools took to the stage, and encouraged the crowd to join in with favourites such as Happy Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon and O Come all Ye Faithful.
