Residents across the county have proved their mental prowess at a charity quiz night held in Kings Langley.
While visitors feasted on lasagne and garlic bread, the quiz master posed questions on sport, pictures and general knowledge.
The event on Friday evening was organised to raise money for the South West Herts Narrowboat Project, a volunteer-run scheme which offers day and evening boat trips to a variety of community groups and charities including Mencap.
Last year, the inside of the organisation’s narrowboat, called Dick’s Folly after founder Dick Gettings, disintegrated due to its plumbing overflowing.
The group is now hoping to raise about £100,000 through events and fundraisers to refit and refurbish the boat, ready for community trips.
Organiser John Blake, project member, confirmed £1,000 had been raised from the quiz night held at the community centre in The Nap, Kings Langley.
