A group of young volunteer police cadets learned life-saving skills at a training day this week.
The Hertsmere cadets, aged between 11 and 18, attended a day of basic life-saving first aid and workplace health and safety training on Wednesday.
The training took part at Hertsmere Borough Council's civic offices, in Borehamwood, and meant the cadets, six of whom are from Bushey, got a taste of real police training.
Valerie Kane, volunteer cadet instructor, said: "It was great to see the cadets learning such valuable skills. As well as dealing with an unconscious casualty, and how to resuscitate someone, they dealt with shock, choking, seizures, bleeding and common workplace injuries."
The cadets will be presented with first aid certificates later this year at their annual parade.
