Plans for the highly anticipated Harry Potter attraction at Leavesden Studios have been unveiled today by Warner Bros. Studios.

The three-hour long walking tour, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, is set to open in Spring 2012.

Visitors will get the chance to go behind the scenes of the successful film series, and be able to witness the intricate detail that goes into the working set.

Costumes, animatronics, props and effects used in the production of all eight Harry Potter films will be on display.

Visitors will be able to walk on to some of the most memorable sets, including the Great Hall and Dumbledore’s office.

Dan Dark, senior vice president and managing director, Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, said: “While the Harry Potter film series reaches its highly anticipated conclusion this summer, its incredible film-making story and its relationship with Leavesden is set to live on with the launch of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.

He added the company hopes the tour will become one of the leading visitor attractions in Europe.

When finished, Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden is set to be one of the largest studio production complexes in Europe when it opens next year.

Josh Berger, president and managing director, Warner Bros. UK, Ireland & Spain, said: “It will celebrate the exceptional British creativity and craftsmanship that goes into making major movies here in the UK.”

Warner Bros.’ relationship with the site stretches back over ten years. It was home for the production of all eight Harry Potter films, as well as many other blockbusters including Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, and Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes and the forthcoming sequel Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

Tickets will go on sale later this year.

I am very pleased about the job creation and knock-on effect this might have. But sadly Warners nave about the same morals as Tesco when it comes to crushing the small for profit.

Yep , this can only be a GOOD thing. Just what we need in times of closure's and doom. It could bring a great deal of money in to the area, local publicans and restaurants could benefit greatly. Harry Potter was a global phenomenon and hardcore fans will travel to enjoy this experience. Let's be positive about it, I know I'll be going for a nose around my kids are massive fans.
