CCTV footage has been released as part of an ongoing investigation into the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in South Oxhey.

The footage, taken from a camera in Northwood Headquarters, shows a man that police would like to talk to.

The Watford Observer reported how at 8.45pm on Monday, December 20, the girl had been walking along Oxhey Drive when she was grabbed by a man who “inappropriately touched her”.

Police think the man then ran off into the woods after being disturbed by the girl's father, who was walking close behind.

Detective Inspector Paul Watts is investigating and said: “This footage shows a person walking along Sandy Lane, South Oxhey in the direction towards Northwood.

“At this stage we do not believe this person was involved in the incident but may have seen something which could prove vital to the investigation.

"A number of cars drove along Sandy Lane and I would also like to speak to you if you were in one of those vehicles.”
