Residents across Dacorum could be in with the chance of winning a free tour of the Olympic Village.

The competition has been organised by Dacorum Borough Council in the hope to inspire more people to get involved in the 2012 games. The council is also seeking to create a lasting legacy, where people continue to enjoy sports, cultural activities and volunteering.

To be in with a chance of winning a place on this day out, tell the council in 80 words or less why it should give you this Olympic opportunity.

Entries can be sent to competition organiser Nicky Flynn at: nicky.flynn@dacorum.gov.uk or Nicky Flynn, Olympics Competition, Dacorum Borough Council, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP1 1HH.

Closing date for entries is 5pm Friday 8 April 2011.

The tour, which will take place on Thursday, July 7, includes a visit to Lee Valley White Water Centre, Hertfordshire’s own Olympic venue and the Lee Valley Athletics Centre.

This will be followed by the Olympic Park viewing gallery where you can catch a glimpse of Europe’s largest urban regeneration project, a piece of history and London’s most visited tourist attraction.

Visit www.dacorum.gov.uk/olympics for terms and conditions.

Winners will be contacted by Monday, May 23 2011.
