About a hundred students at a Watford school boycotted lessons this morning in protest at staff redundancies.
Pupils at Francis Combe Academy, in Horseshoe Lane, Garston, congregated on a grass verge outside the school at around 8.50am.
A school banner was torn down and “Save Our Teachers” was written on the back.
Police officers were called to the scene and moved students back from the pavement.
It is understood parents have been contacted to collect their children.
Students protesting have been excluded for the rest of today.
More to follow.
