RESIDENTS of Oxhey had the chance to sample a traditional fry up on Saturday when they attended the annual Big Breakfast at Bushey and Oxhey Methodist Church Hall.
Organised by Oxhey Village Environment Group, more than 70 people dropped by to enjoy a hearty meal and a chat with friends old and new.
OVEG committee member Ben Atkins said: “We love organising events like this.
“Not only are we raising money for a fantastic cause, we’re also bringing the local population together.
“Around 70 people passed through the door this year, and you could see on the day that the event appeals to all ages.
“It was attended by young and old alike and friends used it as an excuse to get together over some food and a nice cup of tea or coffee.
The event is supported by a number of businesses within Oxhey, and this year, with the help of a £100 shopping voucher donated by Ocado, raised more than £250 in aid of the Peace Hospice.
Ben said: “OVEG would like to express their thanks to all the businesses that helped make the event possible.
“I would also like to thank everybody who helped to make the morning a successful one.”
OVEG is a voluntary organisation primarily funded by it's membership. If you would like to know more or would like to get involved in future events, you can visit www.oveg.org for more information.
