HERTFORDSHIRE residents are being urged to support a farming project by joining the Udder Marathon in Watford later this month.

Pantomime cows will charge around Cassiobury Park in Watford as runners wearing fancy dress – ranging from masks to full costumes – can choose to complete a 5k or 10k route through the park on Sunday, May 15.

The event will take place to raise money for the Royal Veterinary College’s Farm Project, based at Boltons Park Farm near Potters Bar and run in partnership with Watford-based Farming For All.

The project has helped people with mental health issues, learning difficulties and a history of substance misuse experience life on a working farm and gain social and employment skills.

The races will start at 10am at the Gade Avenue car park.

Registration, which includes a cow mask for runners to wear, costs £5. For more information, visit www.udder-marathon.info.
