The results of the local election at Three Rivers District Council election have been counted and announced.

In total, the Liberal Democrats lost one seat to Conservatives, and the Conservatives lost one seat to Labour.

Matthew Bedford (Liberal Democrat) successfully defended his Abbots Langley seat with 1,006 of the 1,790 votes, followed by Mehdi Moossavi (Conservative) with 398 votes, Joanne Cox (Labour), with 298 votes and David Bennett (UK Independence Party) with 114 votes.

Ashridge ward was a close call with voters electing Paul Gordon (Labour) with 426 votes, and Debbie Morris (Conservative) coming in a close second with 352, followed by Andrew Shanks (UK Independence Party) with 112 votes and Gabriel Aitman (Liberal Democrat) with 43 votes.

Richard Laval stepped down from his Bedmond and Primrose Hill seat, which was won by Helen Lehrle (Liberal Democrat) took the seat with 616 of the 1,254 votes, followed by Rachel Andrews (Conservative) with 455 votes, and Bruce Prochnik (Labour) with 175 votes.

Councillor Lehrle who set up the C76 group, which worked on traffic calming measures, said: “People came out who don't normally vote, there was a lot of support from the voters. I am very active in road safety and fighting the development in Railway Terrace.”

Pam Hames (Liberal Democrat) defended her Carpenders Park seat with 916 votes, followed Angela Roberts (Conservative) with 783, Anandana Bakshi (Labour) with 192, and Sylvia Jones (UK Independence Party) with 155 votes.

In Chorleywood West, James May (Conservative) won with a marginal 1197 votes, against Barbara Green's (Liberal Democrat) 1170 votes, followed by Tina Kamei (Green) with 385 votes, and author Fiona Goble (Labour) with 149.

Croxley Green voters elected Leighton Dann (Liberal Democrat), with 1,022 votes, followed by Nigel Stewart (Conservative) with 620 votes, Maureen Sedlacek (Labour) with 248 votes, and Roger Holmes (English Democrats) with 177 votes.

Chris Lloyd (Liberal Democrat) won Croxley Green North ward with a landslide 732 votes, followed by Michelle Bass (Conservative) with 274 votes, then Frank Brand (UK Independence Party) with 111 votes, and Helen Harris (Labour) with 110.

Councillor Lloyd, who has been serving for 16 years, said: “I have a passion and an energy for the community I grew up in, and I want to continue protecting the green belt, taking an interest in planning, and the education of children in Croxley Green whether primary, secondary, or university – every child should have the chance to live their educational potential to the full.”

In Croxley Green South, Philip Brading (Liberal Democrat) held his seat with 717 votes, followed by Jackie Worrall (Conservative) with 382 votes, and Karen Mcintosh (Labour) with 194.

Hayling ward elected Stephen Cox (Labour), with 400 votes, followed by Claire Harris (Conservative) with 327 votes, and Richard Laval (Liberal Democrat) with 47 votes.

In Langleybury, Paul Goggins (Liberal Democrat) held his seat with 840 votes, against Michelle Baudin's (Conservative) 400, and Marie-Louise Nolan's (Labour) 295.

Stephen Giles-Medhurst (Liberal Democrat) held his Leavesden ward with a landslide victory of 987 votes, against Hitesh Tailor (Conservative) with 410 votes and Colin Gray (Labour) with 245.

Leader of the council Ann Shaw (Liberal Democrat) defended her Maple Cross and Mill End seat with 883 votes, against David Raw (Conservative) with 532 votes and Joan King (Labour) with 190.

In Moor Park and Eastbury, Ralph Sangster (Conservative) won with 1367 votes, followed by Jerry Asquith (Liberal Democrat) with 282, Greg Shumake (Labour) with 172 and Martin Lester (UK Independence Party) with 98.

In Northwick ward, Ron Spellen lost his seat to Len Tippen (Labour) who had 459 votes and Yessica Gould (Conservative) who had 398 votes.

Oxhey Hall voters Peter Ray (Liberal Democrat) won with a small lead of 577 against Diane Day's (Conservative) 536, followed by Brendan O`Brien (Labour) with 162.

Finally Sarratt was won by a landslide with Tony Barton (Conservative) receiving 707 votes, Frank Mahon-Daly (Liberal Democrat) with 96 votes, and Mandy Shumake (Labour) with 64 votes.
