A “gutted” former Watford Borough Councillor says she will continue to serve her community, despite being voted out by the electorate last week.
Amanda Grimston, former Conservative member for Leggatts Ward, was ousted on Thursday by Labour rival Asif Khan.
But Mrs Grimston, who served just one four year term, vowed to continue the fight to make her community a better place to live.
She said: “I was absolutely gutted to lose my seat because I have worked really hard over the years. But I will continue to do my best for local residents.
“It’s not all about the party badge, it’s about the community. I am very proud of what I achieved in my time on the council and I will continue my involvement with other community groups and projects.”
Chief among Mrs Grimston’s future plans will be the Callowland Park Family Fun Day, on July 9. She has also promised to keep a close eye on the redevelopment of the Foxhill estate.
