FROM Monday (September 4) anyone parking in Occupation Road next to Watford Football Club will face a hefty charge unless they have a valid permit.
Anyone parking in the road without a permit, or parking in one of two designated areas with a permit invalid for that area, will be expected to pay £40.
Apart from an area designated for Watford FC staff, and another one for local residents, all of the private road will be subject to the charge.
As Occupation Road is private land, the £40 is not a fine but an agreed charge, which motorists "agree" to by parking their vehicles on restricted parts of the road. Previously, motorists had ignored signs asking them not to park in the road, so charging has been brought in.
