Two boys from Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys' School escaped the furor of the royal wedding weekend by climbing the 15 highest mountains in Wales.

Jacob Whitehead, 12, and Will Withyman, 13, were climbing for their school's charity Kidzcare Tanzania, who work with children affected by HIV and AIDS.

The boys climbed a total of 13,000 feet over 30 miles have raised more than £2,000 for the charity.

The Welsh 3000s are recognised as a tough challenge and the boys faced grueling peaks, winds of up to 90mph and Wales highest mountain Snowdon.

Speaking after their journey the boys said “It was a memorable three days for an inspiring charity – but such a shame to miss the wedding.”
