Hundreds of visitors enjoyed the many sights and sounds of the 36th annual Oxhey Village Fair on Saturday.

The event, held on Oxhey Village Green in Lower Paddock Road, was organised by the Oxhey Village Environmental Group (OVEG) and once again benefited from glorious summer weather.

Visitors young and old enjoyed performances of music and dance, fairground attractions and, most of all, the warm glow of community spirit.

OVEG co-chairman Ben Atkins said: “It was brilliant. The whole day went really well and we’ve had really positive feedback from visitors who said it was one of the best years yet.

“There’s a bit of local folklore that says we never have bad weather for the fair and we were pleased to see that came true again this year.

“This is a really popular event because it brings the whole community together. We work really hard to make sure we appeal to all ages and it nice to see that so many people came out to support us.”
