Children had reason to celebrate at the opening of a new playground in Oxhey park on Monday.
New equipment includes a zip-wire, sand pit, swings, trampoline, climbing frame, parallel bars and a roundabout.
Work on the park started in March and was completed on time and on budget.
Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill officially opened the park with help from children from Bromet Primary School, Bushey Manor Junior School, Oxhey Infants and the Oxhey Early Years Centre.
She said: "As with all our new parks, we met with local children and asked them what they wanted. The parks are for them after all - and it was wonderful today to see them having so much fun!"
The council also consulted Oxhey Village Environment Group and Friends of Oxhey Park, who are both active in the area.
More work is ongoing at playgrounds on Stamford Road and Oxhey Green, which are due to be completed soon.
