A team of runners raising money for a Northwood medical charity joined 25,000 others in a sponsored run in London.
On Sunday eighteen runners lined up at the British 10K London Run, representing the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, based at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood.
So far they have raised £2232.42 with more to come in, which will help pay for the early and accurate diagnosis of cancer at the centre.
Richard Love, who works at Mount Vernon Hospital and has taken part in previous years, said: “I really enjoyed it, great support as usual and some hilarious costumes”
The weather conditions were perfect with the sun shining between the clouds and a slight cool breeze, and runners enjoyed sights such as the London Eye, Trafalgar Square and Nelson’s Column.
The Paul Strickland Scanner Centre is an independent medical charity providing scanning services for the accurate diagnosis of cancer and other serious diseases.
The charity needs upwards of £1m a year to fund new scanners and provide the best scanning facilities for patients.
