Young martial artists in Bushey are celebrating success at their latest gradings where more than forty achieved new belts.

The Ju-Jitsu students, aged between five and 13, train at the Bushey Grove Leisure Centre, in Aldenham Road, and were graded on Monday.

Instructor Del Shannon said: "The gradings are very demanding both physically and in terms of their discipline and I was very pleased for them - they were all absolutely delighted.

"Ju Jitsu is great for their confidence, social skills and helping them cope under pressure so it was great to see them achieve their new belts."

Winners in the infant category (ages five to seven) were:

White/red belt: Alexander Saminaden, Stefan Jenkins, Mathias Kilroy, Charlie Pickles & Oliver Davies.

White/yellow belt: Yuvraj Bajaj, Saachi Bajaj & Josh Brooker.

White/orange belt: Ethan Palmer

Winners in the junior category (ages eight to 13) were:

White/black belt: Joseph Miller, Daniel Miller, Lottie Weatherill, Madelaine Allen, Alexander Kilroy, Yasin Arai, Mahdi Arai, Aaron Benedict, Jake Ferguson, Kye Cunningham & Simon Thompson.

Yellow belt: Jamie Tobin, Ben Dukelow, Amy Rodinsky, Dahlia Rodinsky, Jack Rodinsky, Ayyaan Azim & Isaiah O’Parinde.

Yellow/black belt: Kyran Feasey & Zane Finn; Orange belt: Gabriella Sudharson, Angelica Sudharson & Teddie Rush.

Orange/black belt: Ryan Down, Lareib Azim, Trey Tallon & Louis Sugunasabesan.

Green belt: Daniel Bedoya, Finley Dunn & Sanjef vigneswaran; Blue belt: Pragalath Neethirajan.

Blue/black belt: Gabriella Codrington.

Purple belt: Jessica Marshall & Tosin O’Parinde.
