Police investigating the hit-and-run death of a popular father-of-two have made two more arrests.

Plumber Jason Crane, 40, of Croxley Green, died on Saturday, July 16, when the van he was travelling in was hit by a silver Audi on the A41 Tylers Way, Watford.

Three people, believed to have been travelling in the car, ran away before the emergency services arrived.

A 19-year-old man from Dunstable was arrested shortly afterwards. He has been released on bail.

An 18-year-old man from Harrow and a 16-year-old boy from Watford have also been arrested and bailed.

Inspector Andy Piper, said: “Despite having arrested three people in connection with this incident, we are still looking for people who may have been involved in the collision.

“I am therefore urging anyone who may not have yet spoken to police and thinks they may have seen three young men, all wearing jeans, leaving the Audi and walking away from the scene of the incident, to contact police.”

“The men are believed to have walked north along the A41 towards the roundabout with Eltsree Road. Did you see them walking along the road or maybe being picked up by another vehicle? I’d also be interested to hear from anyone who feels they may know the people who made off from the scene of the collision.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 444 111.
