Missing Watford man Mujib Hakim, who vanished earlier this year, has been found dead.
His body was discovered in the back garden of a terraced house in Merton Road.
Hertfordshire Constabulary said this afternoon that his family had been informed of the discovery.
Mr Hakim, a well known character in Watford town centre, was last seen on May 27 when he went to buy cigarettes.
A murder investigation was launched in July when officers received a tip-off that the missing 40-year-old was assaulted in Vicarage Road soon after he was last seen.
A post mortem examination is taking place to determine the cause of death. Three men remain in police custody. Three others have been bailed until September 20.
Specialist officers began searching the garden yesterday afternoon.
