Members of the Watford Interfaith Association broadened their horizons as they celebrated a week of multiculturalism in the town.
Interfaith Week runs from November 21 to 27 and to mark the occasion, a small-scale pilgrimage was organised taking in five places of worship.
Guests enjoyed refreshments and Kosher cake at the Watford and District Synagogue before moving on to other religious centres on Sunday.
About 80 people at various stages joined the tour, which also visited the Islamic Central Mosque, the Christian Wellspring Church Centre, Holy Rood Catholic Church and the Sikh Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara.
Watford firefighters joined the tour to build community relations and learn about practices they should try and observe when dealing with fires at the various community buildings.
Watford Interfaith Association secretary Judith Bruni said: “We organise the event to encourage knowledge and understanding between people. We are trying to build bridges and break down barriers so people feel comfortable living next to each other. Through these things we can see that people of other faiths are not that different, they’re just from a different culture.”
