Private sector pensions have taken a beating - why shouldn't public sector pensions be affected as well?

Here we go, the old private/public sector debate. We are ALL just working class people cathbal66.

There is just too many working class people who believe they should live everyday of their life like an episode of come dine with me.

The government are throwing down pieces of bread and like suckers we (the working class) are all just running around aimlessly arguing amongst ourselves for every measly crumb.

Teachers should think about the children instead of themselves.

This reminds me of last winter and the one before, when a few flakes of snow led to schools being closed because staff can't get in.

In other words, anything for another day off and who cares about the children missing schooling.

It's time teachers grew up.

Personally, I would like to see Teachers have to have 5 years work experience in "the real world" before becoming teachers. At the moment, coming straight from school, so many of them just haven't a clue what real life is like.

Get back to school you lazy lot!

As for the pensions, we who work for a living shouldn't have to subsidise your gold-plated pensions.

Don't believe everything you read in the press. Gold plated? I wish.

Gold plated pensions?

Can you provide me with evidence to back up your statement Reg Edit?

I can only presume you are talking about the 100k per annum bosses on a like for like basis (which seems to be the most ridiculous benchmark) and not the 18 to 22k that the majority of public sector earn without bonuses, shares, company cars, fuel cards, gym memberships and spire healthcare.

I hope your not talking out your HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT ;-)

Why do the working class always fight amongst themselves? We have an enemy and it's in government dismantling anything that improves the lives of working people.

Because Andy, certain sections of the "working class" don't want to be included within such a horrid moniker as it spoils their perfect vision of working for the private sector and want every night at home to be like an episode of come dine with me.

Within a generation, we have found people looking down on working class people. It seems today that its trendy to turn the working class into "fly on the wall documentaries for the pseudo middle class to watch on their 50" plasma tv and sneer at them.

Sad really, but that's what happens when mass consumerism and greed hits the masses.

I agree with your sentiment, however those who look down on "the working class" or worse deny it's existence are working class themselves, typically.

A glass of chardonnay does not a rich man make!
