A group of Norwegian education experts visited Watford Grammar School for Boys to study its computer system of learning.

The eight visitors came to the school on Rickmansworth Road last Tuesday to see its virtual classroom software, Moodle, which helps students research topics and share documents.

The delegation also spoke to students to discuss the benefits of the system and were able to try it out for themselves.

Richard Carr, the assistant headteacher, said: "They were very impressed with their visit, and seemed to gain a lot from how we use our system.

“The boys were very happy to show our visitors how they used the system, and exactly what they did."

"When the visitors left they said they want to bring their head teachers next year."

Moodle is an open source virtual learning platform which is not owned by any school. The IT team would have put some really hard graft getting their environment design and content right have not even got a mention...why?

More sloppy reporting, you'd think Radhika Sanghani might have just Googled it and come up with http://moodle.org/

"Our" system eh?

Its interesting to have Scandinavians come over here to look at our way of teaching (regardless of who originates it). I'm sure if worthwhile they'll incorporate it into their education system which I have to say from what I have seen of it is far superior to our own overall.

It does help that the youth in Norway on the whole do realise the benefit of education and hard work and decency unlike so many (but by no means not all) of our own so many of whom aspire to get rich and famous by doing nothing and where laziness is lauded

Lighten up! Not everything has to be a negative comment; it might surprise you how fun it is to be positive every once in a while! 8-)
