A spate of criminal damage and theft from cars and vans has taken place in South Oxhey over the weekend.
Between Saturday morning and Sunday night, “catalytic converters” were taken from five different Mercedes Sprinter vans.
The converter is part of the exhaust system running underneath all petrol cars and vans, and contains valuable metals.
The incidents occurred in Gosforth lane, between 11am on Saturday and 8.15am on Sunday, in Harewood Road between 8.30pm on Saturday and 4.55am on Sunday and in Henbury Way between 11pm on Saturday and 6am Sunday.
Similar thefts also took place in Phillipers, Watford, between 11am on Saturday and 4.17am on Sunday, and Hunters Lane, Leavesden, between 5pm on Saturday and 7am on Sunday.
A window of a Mercedes Sprinter van was also smashed in Ferryhills Close, between 6pm on Friday and 7.30am today. At this stage it is not clear whether the catalytic convertor was taken.
Here is a map showing the approximate locations of the criminal damage and thefts in South Oxhey.
