Nineteen car parks in Three Rivers have been given a Park Mark award, after they were assessed on their safety and security.
On Friday, the car parks were given the award, after Hertfordshire police's Crime Prevention Unit worked with the district council to improve them.
Mike Sibley, crime prevention design advisor, said: "These car parks scored highly on good management practices, regular visits by car park inspectors. Users feel safe and are confident their vehicles are being well looked after."
The mark is an initiative by the Association of Chief Police Officers and aims to reduce crime and the fear of crime in parking facilities.
The car parks can be found at: Rickmansworth: Northway Car Park (WD3 1RL); Northway House DC and Rose Gardens (WD3 1RL); Ebury House Car Park (WD3 1BN); High Street West Car Park (WD3 1BB); Scotsbridge (North) Car Park (WD3 1AT); Scotsbridge (South) Car Park (WD3 1AT); Talbot Road (West 18) (WD3 1HE); Talbot Road (South) (WD3 1HE); High Street/Talbot Car Park (WD3 1ER); Park Road Car Park (WD3 1RE); Talbot Road Business and Resident Permit Holders Only (WD3 1HE); Nursery Car Park (WD3 1DN) and Bury Lane Car Park (WD3 1DN).
