A Bushey school has been handed an educational award for its work in building an international ethos among its pupils.
Queens’ School, in Aldenham Road, was handed the International School Award for encouraging its students to explore foreign cultures through the curriculum and trips abroad.
International school co-ordinator Angeline David explained why the school applied for the award and what it means to the staff and pupils that helped achieve it.
She said: “We were extremely pleased to have received this award, the staff and students have worked really hard in various subjects to promote this ethos and they have developed an awareness and appreciation of international cultures and relationships.
“It is important that the students learn more about other countries to develop their understanding of the world.”
The school’s trips to places including Peru, Mongolia and Zambia through projects run by World Challenge were among the attributes that led to it receiving the award.
