Two car parks in Kings Langley have been added to the list of those awarded Park Marks by the British Parking Association.

The Dacorum Borough Council-managed car parks in The Nap and Langley Hill were given the accreditation following an assessment by police and the British Parking Association.

These latest awards bring to 14 the number of the council's operated car parks with Park Mark endorsement.

Councillor Julie Laws, Conservative representative, said: “I’m delighted we have secured this accolade. The award is a great way for our residents and visitors to make informed decisions on where to park their vehicles.

“People can feel reassured that their car is being left in a safe location.”

The Park Mark Safer Parking Award scheme is run by the British Parking Association on behalf of the Association of Chief Police Officers.

Independent assessors visit the car park and take into account a range of factors including how well the car parks are managed and maintained and whether there is appropriate surveillance, lighting and signage in place.

Achieving the accreditation means the car parks have measures in place to deter crime and anti-social behaviour, creating a safer environment for customers and their vehicles.
