Celebrity game show host Keith Lemon was giving out awards to Watford residents in the town centre today.

Leigh Francis, who plays the fiction TV presenter, was filmimg outside La Tasca restaurant, for a new programme called “Lemonaid”.

Airing in April, the show will involve Keith tackling people's problems and helping dreams come true, for six episodes on Saturday nights.

Mary Maynard, 68, was on her way to the chemist when she was approached by the show's producers and nominated for a “lifetime achievement” award.

She said: “It was good to meet him, it's the first time I've been on television or met anyone off the television.”

Tina Sparshott was given an award for the “Best Cuddle in Watford”.

She said: “I'm a massive fan, I was watching his programme last night. I saw the crowd outside and went to see what was going on, I spoke to him and asked him for a cuddle. It made my day.”

The star's appearance was also good news to Keith Lemon fan, Jeremy Morris, who rushed to see him as word spread today.

The 17-year-old West Herts College student go to meet the comedian as he filmed by La Tasca this afternoon.

He said: “I have watched him since Bo’ Selecta! but he has got really big since Celebrity Juice.

“He was in character even when he was not filming. I just asked if I could have a picture and he said no problem.”
