The dashing Prince Philip slays the fire-breathing dragon to awaken Sleeping Beauty with a kiss. The Little Mermaid foils the plans of the evil sea witch Ursula to save her father's undersea kingdom. And the beautiful Belle rescues her father from the enchanted castle and breaks the curse that has been enslaving the Beast.

If there's one thing Disney know, it's princesses and Disney on Ice presents Princesses and Heroes is bringing a little bit of the magic to Wembley Arena in March after a hugely successful European tour.

Enchanting children and adults alike since her debut appearance in 1937, Snow White is undoubtedly one of the show's star attractions. Played by 23-year-old US skater Lauren Anderson, we see Snow White flee from her wicked stepmother but then fall into a deep sleep when she's tricked into biting a poisoned apple.

"She's so elegant and graceful," says Lauren, "and then you have the fun and energy of the Seven Dwarves." It's this mix that ensures everyone in the family, from gran down to the youngest, will be kept on the edge of their seat.

Lauren has been performing with Feld Entertainment, the company behind the show, since 2007 and says her favourite part about it is experiencing the audience's reactions. "It's wonderful to skate in front of a crowd and feel their energy throughout a show. I hope the audience leaves feeling happy because I am always so happy when I skate, and I love to share that feeling with them."

She began skating when she was seven, after watching the Winter Olympics on TV, and has been competing and performing ever since.

The ice show consists of the defining moments from each princess's story, where their deepest wishes are fulfilled with the help of their devoted princes. The whole family can cheer on Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Jasmine, Aurora and Snow White, all played by professional, world-class skaters.

Guided by Tinkerbell, audiences get to enter a world of Disney imagination, daring acrobatics, set off by cutting-edge set design and choreography interjected with jaw-dropping visual surprises. The whole is topped off with a show-stopping finale, where the princesses and their heroes are joined by old favourites Mickey, Minnie and Goofy.

Disney on Ice presents Princesses and Heroes is at Wembley Arena, Arena Square, Engineers Way, London from Wednesday, March 7 to Sunday, March 11. Details: 0844 847 2255, www.disneyonice.co.uk
