MORE than 200 people have already applied for the Watford 10k race which was launched at Watford Mencap Children’s Centre on Friday.
The Watford 10k, which is run jointly by Watford Round Table and Watford Mencap, will be in Cassiobury Park on Monday, May 7 and hopes to attract 1500 runners.
The money raised is split equally between Watford Round Table and Watford Mencap Children’s Centre. As well as the 10k, there is a 3k race for under-15s and a 1k for under-10s.
Richard Harrington MP and councillor Lindsey Scudder, the chairman of Watford Borough Council, were among those at Friday's launch.
Antony Stivala, race director from Watford Round Table, said: "This year's Watford 10K promises to demonstrate once again how collective action can make such a difference within the local community."
