School pupils in Oxhey were wowed when two Olympians visited to show off their skills ahead of this summer’s games.

Triple jumper Larry Achike and former relay runner Todd Bennett came to the Bromet Primary school, in Oxhey Road, on Wednesday as part of a pre-London Olympics tour.

The children got to do some circuit training with Mr Bennett before Mr Achike showed them his triple jump, which went through the whole hall.

Anita Bedwell, a P.E. teacher at the school, said: "He had to run from outside the hall, the children saw him do his hop then he went out the fire exit.

"The children were very impressed. They were amazed as not a lot had seen the triple jump before."

The Olympians also brought with them a Union Jack flag which more than 1,000 other schools have signed, so a pupil from the Bromet could add their name.

The flag will fly in the Olympic village throughout the games.
