The former chairman of Watford Borough Council has raised more than £1,000 for each of her chosen charities during her year in the position.
Councillor Lindsey Scudder raised cash for Shopmobility Watford, which loans scooters and wheelchairs to people with mobility problems, and Watford Mencap, which supports people with learning disabilities in the town.
She said: "My theme for my year was independence.
"We had a most enjoyable year raising money for these two well known charities and at the recent Chairman making ceremony I was pleased to present a cheque to both organisations."
