Pedestrian's head injured after ring road crash

A man with a head wound has been taken to Watford General Hospital after a crash in the ring road.

The ring road was closed at the junction with Market Street after the 50-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car.

Police were called to Exchange Road at 4.55pm. The wound is not life threatening.

Marlborough Road has also been closed at the junction with Cassio Road.

Shame the person who came up with the bright idea of the ring road wasn't run over.........

It's not the designer of the ring roads fault. Its those who use it if they were driven on a race circuit. Plus many drivers don't really pay attention to the road an/or what's around them. Hence why these many accidents involving other people.

I cross that road junction on foot on many occasions and I'm surprised not more pedestrians are injured (or worse) the way they run across Exchange Road before the 'green man' light comes up and in front of fast approaching vehicles. What is most annoying are parents I've seen quickly dragging their small children across the road before it is safe to do so. What a 'fine' example is that to teach kids good road sense?

This one's easy: Close all town centre roads to motorised traffic apart from emergency vehicles. Honestly now: who would suffer?
